Hi, I’m Meg. Thanks for dropping by. I write offbeat stories about the world around me and the culture that shapes us. I’m a 33 year-old recent college graduate, former dog walker, sunny girlfriend, and retrolicious girl about town.

While browsing through the House of Mirth, you may wonder what I’m talking about. Here’s a little primer for you.

D: my best friend, lab partner, and confidant, he’s Gary Sinese, Matthew Sweet and Alton Brown, all rolled into one. And we get to be married, too!

The Lant: the cat in the house. AKA Lanty, L.C., CornFlake, Button, My Buddy.

Kokoro: My best cat friend. We lost him in June of 2006.

Lovely U: sprawling University in Chicago to which I returned in 2005 to complete my long-delayed B.A. I graduated (with honors) in June. I am modestly proud of myself.

Mom & Antz: accordingly, my mother and stepfather

Hometown: place I grew up in Indiana and frequently visit.
