That's fantastic! I've done a lot of that in the last year, too. Shedding old snake skins.

I've run into a brick wall, though. I have to find a way to lose weight because I am really having a hard time with diabetic oral meds. I don't want to let this diabetes have so much control of me, and with the kind I have, it's been shown again and again that a reduction in weight will be highly benefiical.

I'm scared; but after seeing my grandma die from what was essentially unchecked diabetes, I feel determined to make choices for my health.

If I fail, there's always insulin.

"So, I made a lot of room in my closet for some clothes that actually fit and represent who I am now. Today. Tomorrow. For realz."

I really need to start doing that before I buy clothes that are simply too small - either hoping I'll slim into them, or crying because I won't.

Thank you.

Oh, Meg, good for you! :) I know it's hard to let go of the "ideal" we have in our minds along with the clothes in our closets. I'm so glad that you're feeling good about having done it. I remember a woman I used to know said she'd rather have five outfits that she loves than a whole closet full of clothes that don't work for her.

I've been thinking it's about time for me to clean out the old closet again, and your post is giving me some inspiration to do it.
