I’m in one of those ballad moods. I’ve gone from Ella Fitzgerald to a couple of slow Dixie Chicks tunes to Chicago’s more dreary selections.

Dreary is such a good word.

But, I’m not deep down depressed. I’m tired. I’m quiet. I’m slow. Like a good ballad.

Saving The Circle

I can’t believe it’s been a week already.

I’m exhausted. I’ve never felt this worn out - not even during the wedding, because then, the leading emotions were excitement and joy. Last weekend, and all this week, I have been awash with fear, tension, and grief - emotions that can suck your lifeforce.

I’m so, so tired.

The sky is thick with clouds today, yet the sun is struggling to break through. In fact it is strong enough to turn the prism on my solar sun catcher. The cloud-filtered sunlight plays lovely tricks with the Lake as well, turning the normally bright blue waves into a shimmering silver horizon.

It’s really beautiful.

Walls Are Never Permanent

Online, offline - I’m pretty cranky everywhere these days. The family reunion left me feeling lost; my cat is sick and won’t let himself heal; a segment of my family is in crisis, and I’m scared.

That’s the bad stuff.
