Got up late today. Seems I can’t help myself turning off my alarm clock before it’s set to wake me. This is a problem. The Kitty is failing me.

too ra loo ra too ra loo ra ay!

Currently listening to: Come On Eileen – Dexy’s Midnight Runners
This song is so well constructed, it thrills me from pole to toe cap. I wanna dance around the office, with my arms clasped over my head, and then down a pint.

And that sort of jubilance is needed today. There is a definite air of depression around the office, that I must strive to avoid, or I know it will envelope me like the glaze on a Krispy Kreme. Why the gloom? I think it’s the End of the FY Slump. Personally, I’m glad to see FY03 go. It’s a time for new beginnings, new goals, and new bosses.

Yes, as of tomorrow, I am no longer under the supervision of PretentiousBoss (who I will heretofore refer to as simply Pretentious. Or perhaps Pretentioussss – see, I read Tolkien). Due to some structural changes in the agency, I will be reporting to a new boss. Sweet, sweet, sweet.

Pretentioussss and her 500 thread count sheets and Adkins diet were really starting to get to me. And perhaps I get to her. This morning, when I took my (last ever!) time sheet to her for a signature, she commented on her messy desk. I made some comment about digging out from under paperwork but not getting caught up in cleaning your files all day, and she turned her head away, mumbling, “no, we don’t want to do that… Very dismissive. She’s also called me intense, and told me it bothers her that she can’t “get a bead on me.” Um, does she need to, as long as I do good work (which I do, thankyouverymuch)?

Well, goodbye Pretentioussss. Enjoy your 500ct sheets tonight. Tomorrow, we are both free.
